To All Cape Codgers Players and Friends:  Join the team and help fund a Cure for Cancer!

The Cure for Cancer Swim Challenge is a community event created to bring together swimmers, families, friends, and supporters in a common effort to help those affected by cancer. Swimmers will work together throughout this summer to complete a combined 1–3 mile swim to raise awareness and financial support for cancer research and patient care.

The purpose of this challenge is simple: to transform compassion into action. By working together, we can support individuals and families facing one of life's most difficult challenges and contribute to organizations dedicated to finding cures and improving treatment.

How the Challenge Works: The Cure for Cancer Swim Challenge is being conducted throughout the summer. Anyone may choose to participate as a swimmer: as an individual, with a partner, or as part of a relay team, complete a distance of 1 to 3 miles by the end of the summer. Swims may take place in a pool, lake or ocean, at any time during the season.

Fundraising Guidelines

Participants are encouraged to contact friends, family members, coworkers, and community organizations to participate as sponsors to contribute to the cause.—Sponsors may pledge any amount they choose.

A unique feature of this program is that donations are sent directly to the organization selected by the donor suggested below. Swimmer participants DO NOT handle contributions.

Suggested Organizations: American Cancer Society: www.cancer.org/donate.html
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute: www.dana-farber.org/
Brigham and Women's Hospital: give.brighamandwomens.org
Boston Children's Hospital: giving.childrenshospital.org

Contributions can also be made to any other cancer research or treatment organization chosen by the donor.

This approach ensures that every contribution reaches the intended organization and also allows donors to support the institution that is meaningful to them. We ask each supporter to email Paul Carter after making their donation and let him know the amount they contributed. His email address is pdc1946@gmail.com. This information will help us track the impact of the fundraiser.

NOTE: SUPPORTERS SHOULD NOT SEND MONEY TO PAUL CARTER

Completion

At the completion of the Cure for Cancer Swim Challenge, participants will receive an email from Paul with the total amount donated to the cause. Most importantly, every swimmer and supporter can take pride in having participated in an effort dedicated to helping others.

The true success of this challenge extends beyond the miles completed or the dollars contributed. It is an expression of compassion, generosity, and concern for our fellow brothers and sisters who are suffering from this terrible disease.

Thank you for your participation and support!
